Krones is now also cooperating with the Faculty of Economics in Debrecen
Krones Hungary Kft. and the Faculty of Economics (GTK) of the University of Debrecen have signed a strategic and cooperative agreement. The comprehensive cooperation offers mutual training benefits. In addition to practice-oriented training, the recently signed comprehensive agreement also provides the framework for launching joint research and innovation programs.
The machine design laboratory, which was established in cooperation with Krones at the University of Debrecen, was handed over at the beginning of the year. The food machinery manufacturer has been actively developing its educational relations for five years now. Until now, the Faculty of Engineering has been the company’s main university partner, but from now on, it will also raise the cooperation with the Faculty of Economics to a higher level.
“We have to continuously educate our colleagues—as everything changes—so we also have to adapt our knowledge at the corporate level, and what is very important is that education also plays a huge role in training the next generation,” highlighted Zoltán Kocsis, CEO of Krones Hungary Kft.
The company, which employs around 800 people, also employs professionals in financial and other economic fields. The Faculty of Economics offers them academic knowledge, while students and lecturers can gain experience in an industrial environment based on the strategic agreement.
“We have undergraduate courses that are practice-oriented, and students have to spend one or two semesters in a real corporate environment. We also have a secondary school camp, within which we always try to show the students our partners where they can later find employment after graduating from university,” said Veronika Fenyves, Dean of the Faculty of Economics.
The comprehensive agreement between GTK and Krones, which has been operating in the Southern Economic Zone since 2019, not only facilitates training cooperation but also the launch of joint research and innovation programs.
