Large-scale Construction Works to Begin in Szepes
In order to improve the water supply network in Szepes and modernise the surrounding road network, significant construction works will begin in May 2026.
At the same time as the utility works, the municipality will also carry out a comprehensive road development project: the affected sections (Sárga dűlő and Vértesi Road) will be renovated, widened and resurfaced with new asphalt. The contractor will carry out the works in phases in order to minimise inconvenience for residents as much as possible.
During the closure of the first phase (20 May – 20 September), Debrecen–Szepes can be accessed from two directions:
- From the south: via Main Road 481.
- From the north: via the stabilised road in Szepes to the entrance of the waste disposal site, then along Sárga dűlő towards Szováti Road.
Due to the renovation of Vértesi Road, traffic east of the waste disposal site (towards the city) will be restricted.
Assistance for residents: The contractor will provide county motorway vignettes free of charge for affected residents to enable the use of motorway sections. Requests for the vignette can be sent to the municipal representative at the following email address:
During the pipeline construction phase beginning on 20 July, the contractor will continuously ensure access to properties through temporary solutions.
