Local tax liability – second half of 2025

The Tax Department of the Mayor’s Office of the City of Debrecen has started mailing balance notices, which will help with the fulfillment of local tax payment obligations for the second half of 2025.

Those individuals who have not opted for electronic contact by the date of the balance notice will receive a notice by post.

Individuals and sole proprietors registered for electronic contact will receive the letter at the Customer Portal (Ügyfélkapu), and companies will receive the letter at the Company Portal (Cégkapu).

The second half of the payment obligations can be fulfilled without late payment penalties until September 15, 2025.

The tax department will only attach a check to the notices delivered by post. Attention is drawn to the fact that everyone has the opportunity to settle their tax liability with a transaction that qualifies as a bank card purchase on the E-Government Portal (E-Önkormányzat Portál), using the EFER system. In addition to the above, the tax department asks taxpayers that if they wish to fulfill their payment obligation by transfer, they should check the previously recorded account number(s) and match them with the account numbers in the notification, because they have changed with effect from April 1, 2025!
