Joining the 1st Debrecen Dance Week programme series, the “Move, Debrecen” initiative’s flashmob event was organised for the third time, involving students from all Debrecen dance groups, students from educational institutions, and participants in the “Move, Debrecen!” zumba and aerobics exercise programmes, on April 28, 2025, at Kossuth Square.
At the event, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen, Diána Széles welcomed the nearly 1,500 participants, including 13 dance groups from Debrecen, 20 educational institutions and representatives of the “Move, Debrecen!” initiative. The deputy mayor thanked the Alfréd Hajós Award-winning physical education teacher of Debrecen City, József Asztalos, the initiator of the event and the instructor of the No Comment Hip Hop dance school, who created the choreography, Henriett Henzsel, and dance teacher of the Ady Endre Grammar School in Debrecen and the creator of last year’s choreography, Szabolcs Jóna.
The participants in the flashmob first presented last year’s dance and then the new choreography.
