New hotel opened in Debrecen

The old factory building of the former Roller Bearing Works has been converted into a retro-style business hotel. The new hotel is retro, but with a message for the future.114 rooms have been created on three floors in a unique setting. At the opening ceremony, Mayor László Papp said that the industrial heritage is returning with a reimagined function, not looking back to the past, but rather with a message for the future.

Old style phones, radios advertising posters. A real time travel experience for anyone who enters Debrecen’s first retro-style business hotel. The Stay Loft with its furniture, furnishings and interiors evokes the feeling of the 60s and 70s. The Dryvit Profi Group has completely renovated the old factory building following interior renovations, which used to house offices and changing rooms.

“It’s a bit different from the classic hotels. We have cooking facilities in every room, refrigerators etc. We also created common areas, there was no need for other wellness facilities,” Managing Director of Dryvit Profi Ltd. László Bana said.

The three-storey building has 114 rooms with a total of 123 beds. The three-star business hotel was completed in 7 months.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mayor László Papp said: ‘We see further proof that Debrecen’s economic development is not only in numbers, but also in a livable modern environment.” He added that the Stay Loft Hotel has reached another milestone, bringing Debrecen closer to the status of a regional business centre.

“Stay Loft Hotel is a new business tourism venue and a response to one of the biggest challenges of Debrecen’s economic growth. How can we create a service or residential environment that matches the city’s economic performance?” the Mayor pointed out.

László Papp added that the future of Debrecen is a modern, knowledge-based business centre. A city that offers not only jobs, but quality of life, perspective and community, and this hotel is an important and concrete embodiment of that vision.
