New Speed Limit in Force at End of Diószegi Road
Back in July, Magyar Közút in cooperation with the police and Debrecen City Council was preparing to introduce an 50 km/h speed limit at the end of Diószegi Road. At the time, the Civil Fórum Debrecen Association said that local residents had been calling for several measures to improve road safety in the area.
The measure has now been implemented: the new speed-limit signs were installed in the second half of August, meaning that the applicable speed limit on the affected road is now 50 km/h. The restriction applies to the section between the sign marking the boundary of the built-up area and the junction with the fishing lake.
And there is certainly no shortage of reminders: motorists may encounter the 50 km/h signs at frequent intervals, in some places as little as 30 metres apart, making the new rule very difficult to miss.
