An exciting series of events will take place in the city centre of Debrecen on the 18th of October 2024.

The city’s creative industries have joined forces to showcase their creativity in a series of joint events, the Night of Creative Spaces, designed to create a tradition. Just like Debrecen Art Week or the Creative Community of Debrecen, the “Night of Creative Spaces” is an event where people come together to get to know each other better and to show themselves to the city.

Éva Kopócs, the creator of the Maminvent brand and owner of EVANI Studio, said that nine creative industry players joined the event “Night of Creative Spaces”: the BeugRoom, Debrecen HUB, EVANI Studio, FIX Debrecen, Kraftlab Debrecen, the German Cultural Forum, the Bicycle Museum Debrecen, Sufni 2 Art House and the Innovation Ecosystem Centre of the University of Debrecen. As she said, members of the creative industrial community will welcome visitors in their own place (studio) with workshops, lectures, craft activities and concerts from early afternoon until late evening. In the EVANI Studio, Éva Kopócs is waiting for those who want to create something special from recycled materials.

János D. Halász, Managing Director of DEMKI, added that the day will start with a creative workshop in the Beugroom. Visitors will be able to paint and decorate the corridor in front of the community space, while a craft session on recycling will start at the same time. In the afternoon, the Debrecen Youth Municipality and the Notre Dame Podium will present themselves. Dance, concerts, stage plays, photography and filming will be on offer.

At the Debrecen HUB, visitors can learn more about the world of entrepreneurship through presentations in Hungarian and English.

At FIX Debrecen, vistiors will have a tour of the machinery of the maker space, while the Innovation Ecosystem Centre of the University of Debrecen will give lectures on creative industries.

At KraftLab, the venue of the initiators of the event series, three presentations will be held: a professional podcaster will give us a training session on how to host a show, and we will be able to explore the world of mobile astrophotography and electronic music.

Attila Katona, the owner of the Bicycle Museum, said that during his guided tours, visitors can learn about the history and restoration process of bicycles.

At the Sufni 2 Art House, visitors can make fired ceramics to take home, while the German Cultural Forum will start with a notebook-making workshop and end the day with a techno party.
