Paid parking in Malompark will be discontinued
Paid parking was introduced at Malompark on September 8. The shopping center explained the change by citing increased pressure on parking spaces due to the introduction of the surrounding paid zones, as well as a growing number of drivers using the lot without intending to shop. They stated their goal is to ensure parking spaces remain available for actual customers.
On September 26, a post appeared on the Facebook page of G4 Fitness, located in Malompark, announcing that paid parking will end on October 1. In response to inquiries from Dehir, operations director József Sipos confirmed that parking at Malompark will indeed be free again starting in October. Their official statement declared that from October 1, the shopping center’s parking lot will once again be available free of charge.
They stated that they trust that this decision will contribute to a more convenient and carefree shopping experience and that this step will reaffirm the trust and satisfaction of customers.
However, the statement emphasized that further assessments and consultations are expected regarding the long-term maintenance of the parking system. It is possible that, depending on how traffic and parking conditions evolve, a new regulated parking system may be introduced in the future. They assured that all details will be communicated in a timely and transparent manner.
The center’s decision to charge for parking has caused a very negative response on social media, with several people calling for a boycott by customers. Malompark informed the public that their decision was made based on customer reactions, feedback, and the opinions of the majority of tenants.
