The program continues, and in May, the Municipality of Debrecen will support people with disabilities by providing free sports participation.

On May 20, 2025, students of the Kindergarten, Primary School, and Boarding School of the Unified Special Education Methodology Institution for the Hearing Impaired (in Hungarian: Hallássérültek Egységes Gyógypedagógiai Módszertani Intézménye) have the opportunity to get acquainted with wheelchair fencing at the Békessy Béla Fencing Centre.

Students with hearing and speech impairments can learn the basics of this sport, which has brought many successes to Hungary, through the collaboration of the Békessy Béla Fencing Club and Debrecen Sport Centre Public Benefit Nonprofit Ltd. (in Hungarian: Debreceni Sportcentrum Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft.).

The program is part of the professional cooperation titled Inclusion-InSport-InSociety – Heroes of Local Responsible Sport Enterprises, which aims to integrate people with disabilities into society through everyday sports activities, supported by innovative software designed for sports. As part of this initiative, people with disabilities can engage in sports for free at various sports service providers under the coordination of the municipality.

The organisers still welcome applications from organisations working with people with disabilities and sports service providers. They can be contacted at sport@ph.debrecen.hu or through the online appointment booking platform at www.foggosport.com.
