Planning consultation has begun for the new runway at Debrecen International Airport

As  reported earlier, Debrecen International Airport is getting a new runway. Mayor László Papp announced the signing of the contract in early April. Now, he announced on Facebook that the design coordination has also started.

The mayor told Debrecen Television’s Public Affairs programme that a new runway will be built at Debrecen Airport to replace the existing runway, which is in a poor condition and has been demolished. When the new runway, with its navigation system, is ready, flights will be able to use it.

László Papp wrote in a post on Friday that “Debrecen International Airport plays an important role in leisure, business tourism and air transport. The new runway will ensure the strengthening of all these areas in the future.”
