Preparatory Work Is Being Done for Renovation in the Underpass of the Main Railway Station

As stated by MÁV Group, their aim is not only to eliminate water leakage in the underpass of Debrecen’s Main Railway Station, but also to create a civilised, passenger-friendly and fully accessible underpass worthy of the city’s status.

The planning process also includes carrying out several surveys. A new geodetic survey will be prepared, the suspended ceiling elements will be dismantled, and specialists will carry out so-called core sampling to determine the load-bearing capacity of the concrete structures, after which the sampling locations will be restored.

During the preparatory works carried out between 5 and 11 March, passenger traffic in the underpass may be restricted to a limited extent, but access to the platforms via the underpass will be ensured throughout.
