Renovation Complete for Another Section of Zöld Street in Debrecen

The large-scale renovation of the second phase of Zöld Street has been completed, covering the section between numbers 19–20 Zöld Street and Vas Gereben Street, as announced by Mayor László Papp on his Facebook page. According to his post, the project included the replacement of kerbs, raising utility fixtures to the correct level, the renovation of pavements on both sides of the street, and the installation of a new asphalt surface following the removal of the old wearing course. The development has made transport in the area more modern, safer and more comfortable, the city leader added.

Last year, another section of the street had been upgraded, with the part between numbers 19–20 Zöld Street and Kurta Street renovated.

A total of HUF 9.25 billion has been allocated for transport development in Debrecen’s budget this year. Of this amount, HUF 2.37 billion is being spent on large-scale road repair works: improvements have been carried out or are currently underway on 32 streets this year. The streets affected are:

  • Sillye Gábor Street
  • Meszena Street
  • Andaházi Street (between Komlóssy Street and Poroszlay Street)
  • Honvéd Street (between Péterfia Street and Egyetem Avenue)
  • Kurta Street
  • Completion of the Zöld Street asphalt works on the Kassai Road side, including the conversion of the pavement into parking spaces (Phase I)
  • Fonatos Street
  • Loop parking area on Sinai Miklós Street
  • Görbe Street Phase I (between Honvéd Street and Arany János Nursery School)
  • Parking area behind 6 Viola Street
  • Repair of the asphalt surface in front of the medical practice on Híd Street
  • Ötmalom Street (towards Kígyó Street)
  • Munkácsy Street Phase I
  • Munkácsy Street Phase II
  • Nap Street (between Zöldfa Street and Baross Gábor Street)
  • Víztorony Street Phase I
  • Road repairs on Kolónia Street
  • Kürtös Street (between Széchenyi Street and Erőss Lajos Street), including widening works
  • Földi János Street (between Széchenyi Street and Postakert Street)
  • Szív Street
  • Asphalt surfacing of the service road at the economic entrance of Epreskerti School
  • Repair of asphalt deformation on Salétrom Street–Délisor
  • Délisor Phase I
  • Trombitás Street asphalt works Phase I
  • Section between 61 István Road and Kazinczy School
  • “L”-shaped cul-de-sac parking area at 61 István Road, Kazinczy School
  • Ozmán Street (between Szávay Street and Erdész Street)
  • Asphalt surfacing of the service road parking area between 19 and 33 István Road Phase I
  • Asphalt surfacing of the service road parking area between 19 and 33 István Road Phase II
  • Renovation of Kiss József Street
  • Main Road 33 (between Füredi Road and Balmazújvárosi Road), from Bem Square to the motorway
