As part of the Debrecen 2030 programme, road construction was carried out in Kárókatona Street.
In 2024, the city administration will continue to place great emphasis on transport development. The city is currently undergoing a number of road renovation and construction projects to ensure comfortable and safe transport for residents and visitors from the agglomeration.
The municipal representative of the residential area, István Kovács said at a press conference held on the 27th of August 2024 that a 136-metre long and 4.5-metre wide solid pavement was built in Kárókatona Street, from Erdei Ferenc Street northwards, and a roadway was constructed on both sides. A 1.5 m wide pavement was also constructed on one side of the road along the entire length of the street. Storm water drainage is provided by a closed storm drain. The cost of the project was HUF 37 million, financed by the municipality from its own resources.
The planting work still planned will be carried out in milder and more favourable weather conditions.
The municipal representative also mentioned that in his constituency there had recently been road works on Mészöly Géza Street, the asphalting works currently under way on Keresztesi Street, which would relieve some of the load on Hétvezér Street, the ongoing asphalting works were nearing completion, and plans for the coming years included the asphalting of Csuka Street.
