Road construction completed on Kárókatona Street
In 2024, the city administration will continue to emphasize transport development. The city is currently undergoing several road renovation and construction projects to ensure comfortable and safe transport for residents and visitors from the agglomeration.
The municipal representative of the residential area, István Kovács, said at a press conference held on the 27th of August 2024 that a 136-metre long and 4.5-metre wide solid pavement was built in Kárókatona Street, from Erdei Ferenc Street northwards, and a roadway was constructed on both sides.
A 1.5 m wide pavement was also constructed on one side of the road along the entire length of the street. A closed storm drain provides stormwater drainage. The project cost HUF 37 million, which the municipality financed from its own resources.
The planting work that is still planned will be carried out in milder and more favourable weather conditions.
The municipal councillor also pointed out that road works were being carried out in Mészöly Géza Street, and asphalt works are currently being carried out in Keresztesi Street, which would relieve Hétvezér Street. The ongoing asphalt works are nearing completion, and the plans for the coming years include asphalting on Csuka Street.
