Road construction of Phase I of Platán Street has begun
The local government representative of the residential area, Róbert Juráskó reported on the details of the investment at a press conference on April 16, 2025.
As he said, “The local government will continue the road renovations and road constructions that began in previous years within the framework of the Debrecen 2030 program this year as well. An asphalt road of approximately 60 metres long and 6 metres wide will be built on the first section of the first phase of Platán Street in Józsa. In parallel, the rainwater drainage channel will also be completed on this section. The new nursery school is also located next to the road section, so the road will also serve the nursery school creating a direct connection to the parking lots. Therefore, for those who arrive here by car, it will be convenient to get around, they can stop comfortably in front of the nursery school. The road construction on Platán Street began on April 15 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of April.” The representative asks for the patience of the population in the meantime. Since the affected section of Platán Street was closed in its full width for the duration of the works, residents can use Kastély and Berkenye Streets as a detour. The road construction on Platán Street is expected to continue next year with the second phase. Róbert Juráskó expressed his hope that residents will be able to use the road section currently under construction with satisfaction.
Róbert Juráskó also mentioned that there had been another investment in the area in the recent period. In order to improve pedestrian traffic conditions to be able to approach the nursery easily and simply on foot, a sidewalk was built on Kiserdő Street. Last year, road construction and road renovations took place on Várdai Miklós, Jósa Miklós and Vashámor Streets, and similar works will be carried out this year and next year. The representative also mentioned that Józsa will be affected by significant road developments in the future, such as the four-lane extension of Main Road 35 and the construction of the northeastern bypass, which will make traffic in the district easier.
