István Kovács, the municipal representative of the district, held a press conference on the 18th of September 2024.

István Kovács said that the road construction project on Keresztesi Street has been completed, which is very helpful for the area’s residents and the people who travel in the district.

This section of the road had been plagued by problems in the past, so he received many requests from residents to carry out asphalt works on it. The municipal councillor said that 188 metres of work had been carried out starting in the summer. In addition to the sealed stormwater drainage, the contractor had also carried out paving on two sides and pavement repairs on one side. The street lighting system was also upgraded in this section.

The municipal representative added that the cost of the works was HUF 84 million, which was entirely covered by the municipality from its resources. Several other sections in the district have also been repaired in the past period, with the asphalting of Kárókatona Street, Seregély Street and the first phase of Mészöly Géza Street. He stressed that the newly completed road section could make a significant contribution to easing traffic on the parallel Hétvezér road during the morning and afternoon rush hours, thus also serving as an alternative transport route.
