Roadworks on Barna Street begin

Subject to weather conditions, the works are expected to be completed by mid-September 2024.

In the framework of the D2030 programme, Debrecen continues to pay special attention to transport development in 2024. A number of large-scale road rehabilitation and construction projects are currently underway in the city. These are designed to ensure comfortable and safe transport for the residents of the city and for those coming from the agglomeration.

The road works in Barna Street, between Szív Street and Antall József Street, will start with utility excavation works on the 31st of July 2024 and will continue with the construction of a closed stormwater drainage system on the 1st of August 2024.

The road will be resurfaced with 80 m of new solid pavement and a further 40 m of existing asphalt pavement.

Subject to weather conditions, the works are expected to be completed by mid-September 2024, but the contractor will do its utmost to complete the project as soon as possible.

Temporary traffic restrictions are expected on the affected road section during the construction works. 

Please follow the temporary road signs and do not drive by habit.
