Santas arrive in Debrecen’s main square in fairy‑tale cars
This year, the Debrecen residents can prepare for a special spectacle, because instead of the traditional sleigh, this time Santa Claus will roll into the heart of the city on vintage cars and motorcycles.
The organizers aim to create a festive atmosphere in the area between the Great Church and Kálvin Square and to bring smiles to the faces of as many children as possible.
The official part of the meeting will begin on December 6 at 7:30 pm in the city center, where those interested can admire the vehicles dressed in festive decorations until 8:30 pm.
In addition to the good mood, the organizers also place great emphasis on safety, which is why they urge families to be extra careful. Since tram traffic will operate uninterruptedly during the event, it is especially important to drive carefully around the tracks.
The organizers also welcome veteran drivers and motorcyclists who would like to be part of this friendly meeting and bring joy to the little ones.
The participants will gather between 5.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. in the new Praktiker parking lot next to Tesco on Kishegyesi Street. From there, the team will march in convoy through the city on a route agreed on site, and then at 7.30 p.m. they will occupy the location designated by the municipality at Kálvin Square.
The area occupation permit is valid until 8.30 p.m. Since the event is primarily about surprising children, the organizers encourage vehicle owners to decorate their cars and wear costumes.
