Service Disruptions and Replacement Buses on Main Railway Line Due to Overhead Line Fault
Longer journey times, transfers to replacement buses and cancelled trains are expected on the Budapest–Szolnok–Debrecen–Nyíregyháza and Budapest–Szolnok–Békéscsaba main lines until the afternoon, as the overhead line fault at Szajol station is preventing train traffic.
Nearly 20 MÁV buses have already been assisting transport at the site since the morning, and an additional dozen buses have been dispatched from more distant parts of the country, gradually entering service throughout the late morning.
Specialists are already working to repair the damaged overhead line. Train services at Szajol station are expected to resume in the early afternoon.
Service changes on the Budapest–Cegléd–Szolnok–Debrecen–Nyíregyháza–Záhony line:
- InterCity services operate from Nyugati Railway Station as far as Szolnok, and from Debrecen as far as Kisújszállás, and depart from those stations respectively
- InterRegio and stopping services operate from Nyugati Railway Station as far as Szolnok, and from Debrecen as far as Törökszentmiklós, and depart from those stations respectively
- Replacement buses run between Szolnok and Törökszentmiklós, and between Szolnok and Kisújszállás
- All VOLÁN bus services towards Szolnok call at Törökszentmiklós railway station, where rail tickets are also accepted
