Stargazing Adventure at Agóra Science Centre in Debrecen
On Friday, August 1, at 8:30 PM, Debrecen’s Agóra Science Centre invites visitors to embark on a captivating nighttime journey through the cosmos.
This two-hour program offers a rare opportunity to explore the wonders of the universe with expert guidance.
The evening begins with a walk across the Agora Bridge, where participants will “travel” through the Solar System in a hands-on, interactive experience designed to illustrate the scale and structure of our planetary neighbourhood.
Following the walk, a brief but insightful introductory talk by a professional astronomer will prepare guests for observing the night sky.
If weather conditions are favourable, the program continues with telescope viewing. Under expert supervision, attendees will observe celestial objects, learn how amateur telescopes function, and acquire practical tips for stargazing.
Throughout the evening, visitors may spot double stars, explore the two main types of star clusters — open and globular — and even catch glimpses of bright galaxies through the telescopes.
