Swarm of Beetles Expected in Debrecen’s Main Square

Although many people in Debrecen are already caught up in Campus Festival fever, there will be plenty to see beyond the festival grounds this weekend. On 25 July, visitors to Kossuth Square can take part in a spectacular free event between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. as Debrecen Beetle Fans will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Debrecen Cruise Night with an organised gathering.

“It began as a discussion ahead of the annual Volkswagen Beetle meeting in Gyomaendrőd, when we were making arrangements for the trip. In the end, it grew into an event in its own right and became this small gathering. This year, the Beetles and Volkswagen minibuses will be on display in Debrecen’s main square as a kind of open-air exhibition, free for everyone to enjoy,” said organiser Máté Kókai.
