The construction of the 550-apartment complex in Debrecen is progressing very quickly
The largest apartment development in Debrecen in recent years is underway in the southern part of the city: the investor, the Bayer group, plans to build 550 apartments in the Epres Liget project. The work is progressing well, and the first apartments are scheduled to be completed in the first half of next year.
In May, only construction machinery could be seen in the Epres Liget residential park. At that time, the specialists were only working on the foundations of the buildings, but today the construction is truly spectacular, the first phase of the structural construction will soon be completed. They are also working with prefabricated elements, which is why they are moving so quickly. The Bayer group is developing 549 apartments in six condominiums.
“ We targeted the occupancy permit for the first half of next year, with continuous handover. Since we are talking about several building groups, we are planning to handover them in stages,” project manager of Bayer Construct Zrt., Balázs Oláh informed.
The demand for buying apartments in Debrecen has increased in recent times. Thanks to job-creating investments, more and more people are moving to the city, and the population is expected to grow further in the future.
The aim of the Epres Liget project is to create a modern, yet family-friendly living environment, thus serving the growing demand for housing.
“In addition to family support systems, the three percent loan for the purchase of the first home is also useful. We believe that this should be specifically served with apartments, housing products that do not serve overpriced housing, but affordable housing,” Sales Director of Bayer Property, Ákos Balla said.
As Index also reported, “In the residential park, prospective owners can choose from several types of apartments: from one-room studios to larger apartments with a living room plus three bedrooms, the range is wide. Most apartments have a floor area of around 60 square metres, with a well-usable balcony, optional storage and parking space. During the construction, the Bayer group often uses its own building materials and, as a technological innovation, uses prefabricated bathrooms, thus optimising costs and construction time, increasing quality.”
Epres Liget apartments are available from HUF 1 million per square metre.
A 60 square metre apartment with a balcony, storage room and parking space ranges from HUF 70–75 million, while the price of the more spacious, 82 square metre, three-bedroom homes starts at HUF 90 million.
The first apartments are planned to be delivered in the first half of 2026.
