The entrepreneurship knowledge roadshow has arrived in Debrecen
The event aims to provide young people between the ages of 17 and 25 with practical knowledge to start their own businesses. Veronika Varga-Bajusz, State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, said at the opening of the event held at the Debrecen Vocational Training Center, “It has never been so good to be young in Hungary.”
Young people gathered at the Debrecen Vocational Training Center who would like to start their own businesses after completing their studies.
“I graduated from the Debrecen Vocational Training Center and the Beregszászi Pál Vocational High School, and since then I have had my own business repairing electric scooters in Debrecen. My goal now is to learn more about business so that I can start another business in the future,” explained Barnabás Zákány.
At the Debrecen stop of the national program series, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, Veronika Varga-Bajusz, spoke about how it is not enough to renew training methods. Success requires the development of infrastructure, the involvement of market players, and the financing of students’ studies, but—as she put it—they do not let go of young people’s hands even after graduation, as evidenced by the workers’ loan, for example.
“The HUF 4 million interest-free workers’ loan can be used completely freely, even to start your own business. The success of the latter is demonstrated by the fact that more than 30 thousand young people have already used it, worth more than HUF 112 billion, said the State Secretary.
László Pósán, Chairman of the Cultural Committee of the National Assembly, encouraged those present to be full of self-confidence, because it is absolutely necessary to start a business. “Trust in yourself! Take advantage of the opportunities and help that this current program offers. I think it will not be useless, and everyone will realize that it is actually a matter of attitude,” he told the young people.
According to Éva Skultéti, Secretary General of the Hajdú-Bihar Vár County Chamber of Industry, entrepreneurship is a way of life that not only produces a product or service but also creates value.
“Today is about how these dreams can become reality. All you need is a good idea, a little courage, and the knowledge that you have acquired and will acquire here and now, and then in school.”
According to the Chancellor of the Debrecen Vocational Training Center, three conditions must be met for young people to be future-proof. These are the existence of the regulatory and economic environment and capital.
“One of the key issues of the regulatory environment is that thanks to the Vocational Training 4.0 strategy, a vocational training system has been created where your knowledge and professional preparedness fit into real life,” as Zsolt Tirpák said.
At the Debrecen stop of the roadshow, it was stated that wherever there is a BMW factor, there is also constant demand for small businesses, industries, and services, so, as the speakers put it, “It is worth starting a business in Debrecen.”
