The fifth “Hello, Profession!” career orientation festival will take place at the end of September
This year’s exhibition and conference entitled “Hello, Profession! – Path to the Future” promotes the strengthening of cooperation between printing companies in Debrecen and the recruitment of new professionals in the sector.
The two-day career orientation festival will be held at the end of the month by the vocational training center in collaboration with key economic, educational, and community players in the region at the stadium and its surroundings.
Debrecen’s key goal is to give young people in the city a vision for the future, and career orientation events such as “Hello, Profession!” play a crucial role in promoting this, Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa said at this year’s press conference. “If we choose a good profession, we have a vision for the future, the needs of the economy meet the training portfolio, and young people can thrive later on, as they will find jobs and thus a secure livelihood,” he emphasized.
The nearly five-century-old printing industry in Debrecen, led by Alföldi Nyomda, symbolizes the unique character of the city, László Pósán, chairman of the Cultural Committee of the National Assembly, said at a briefing held at Alföldi Nyomda. “A printing company is, in its own way, innovative in its activities, as it is always producing new things, but it is also an institution of preservation, as its technical background ensures the transfer of knowledge from the past,” he pointed out.
Seven printing companies in Debrecen recently formed a coalition called Nyomdaipari Karrier Debrecen (Printing Industry Career Debrecen). Their common goal is to cooperate even more closely with the DSZC Baross Gábor Technical College to provide practical training and up-to-date knowledge for students in the sector. “For us, the only way to ensure a supply of new printing industry professionals is to train our future employees ourselves,” László Bertalan, production director at Alföldi Nyomda Zrt., explained.
The Debrecen printing industry cluster has become a key partner of the festival “Hello, Profession!”, meaning that this year’s career orientation festival will also focus on promoting careers in the printing industry.
“We will be presenting more than 90 professions in 22 sectors over the two days of the event, and we will also be showing the career opportunities available after completing vocational training,” Sándor Szilágyi, Director General of the Debrecen Vocational Training Center (DSZC), emphasized
The fifth career orientation fair and conference will be held on September 29 and 30 by the DSZC in collaboration with key economic, educational, and community players in the region at and around Nagyerdei Stadium.
