The first phase of the Zöld Street road renovation is now complete
Debrecen continues its large-scale road renovation program launched under the D2030 economic development program. In the first phase, a 140-meter section of Zöld Street was renovated.
The renovation of the section between Zöld Street 19-20 and Kurta Street began at the end of May. During the work, the contractors replaced the entire roadbed, raised the utility fittings to the same level, and replaced the curbstones on both sides. As part of the renovation project, the sidewalk section in front of Zöld Street 20 – 26 was also renovated, increasing pedestrian safety. The investment was implemented with a gross budget of HUF 69 million from local government funds.
Municipal representative István Bognár highlighted that the D2030 economic development program is being implemented along a well-defined strategy that covers many areas of the city, including transportation development. This large-scale road renovation, covering approximately 140 meters on Zöld Street, was also carried out thanks to this program. He added, “I am confident that the next phase of the works will start soon, thus contributing to the comfort of those living in the area.”
The primary goal of the large-scale road renovation program is to replace the old and damaged asphalt pavements and to make the necessary local structural repairs to the roadway in order to improve the quality and safety of traffic in Debrecen.
