The iconic transport vehicle, the Zsuzsi Forest Railway, has recently joined DKV
The CEO of the local transport company, DKV Zrt., Szabolcs Tóth, spoke on the local TV (DTV) about the company’s past and future.
He said the company’s image change a year ago is linked to the creation of a people-oriented, sustainable service that is innovative and adapts quickly to environmental changes and social challenges. The company builds on tradition and innovation through the hydrogen buses being tested.
He said that Debrecen has the highest proportion of electronic purchases in Hungary. This is 70 percent for season tickets, but more than 40 percent of public transport tickets are also bought online.
He added that the last 119-strong bus fleet was taken over in September, the company’s 140th birthday. This completed a three-year fleet replacement project launched at the beginning of 2022. This means 2,500 fewer tonnes of emissions than before, with our electric vehicles, of course, making a major contribution.
The iconic transport vehicle, the Zsuzsi Forest Railway, will depart from Ruyter Street for the last time this year on 7 December at 5 pm.m for Santa Claus, and the 101-year-old steam locomotive will again pull the train.
