The initial section of the road leading to the Pallag Housing Estate has been asphalted
“The asphalting of the first section of Fekete István Street in Pallag has been completed, “ László Papp announced.
The mayor added that road construction and large-scale road repair works were underway in several places in the city. As examples, he mentioned that Basahalom Street, Bádogos Street, Bádogos köz, Tóth Árpád Street had been completed, the construction of a bus lane on Hunyadi Street was underway and he was pleased to announce that the first section of Fekete István Street in Pallag had been completed.
“Pallag is a dynamically developing suburban area of Debrecen in general, and this road is the main arterial road of the Barackvirág Residential Park, parallel to Mezőgazdász Street, “ the mayor pointed out.
Regarding the first phase of Fekete István Street road construction, the Mayor said “the works started on the 21st of May, during which the section between Szelényi Ferenc Street and Bocz Ernő Street was paved with a length of 275 metres and a width of 5.5 metres. As part of the project, open stormwater drainage ditches were constructed”.
To avoid complaints about speeding, the busy Mezőgazdász Street could be cut off on this stretch; the designers have created different intersections, both in level and colour, forcing drivers to slow down. This solution will be applied in several places in the future.
László Papp emphasised the intent and the plan to continue road construction in the next period, both in the eastern and western directions.
The elected municipal councillor of the district Róbert Juráskó highlighted that the development had much been awaited by the residents, as the area had previously been agricultural land, which was turned into a housing estate. The internal roads are still mostly private roads, but the Municipality is committed to helping the people of Pallag. Although the majority of the internal roadways are still privately owned, the Municipality is dedicated to supporting the Pallag community. Since this is the primary route through the housing estate, the completion of the first sections of Szelényi Ferenc Street and Fekete István Street will be greatly beneficial to the residents.
“There are still sections of the road that are privately owned, and for the continuation it is necessary that these sections are also managed by the Municipality, “ regarding the further stages, Róbert Juráskó mentioned.
