The Made in Debrecen Festival will be held again next year

This year, for the fourth time, music played all day at the end of March as part of the Made in Debrecen Festival, where several thousand people turned up. Good news for the audience and good news for the musicians and the entire Debrecen music scene: the festival will be held next year as well, on March 21, 2026. Organizers announced performers can register for the 2026 Made in Debrecen Festival until December 15. The application form is available here: http://www.madeindebrecenfesztival.hu

About The Festival

The Made in Debrecen Festival is a one‑day celebration of local music, showcasing hundreds of bands and performers across multiple venues in the city.

The event was inspired by the successful Made in Pécs Festival and has quickly become a highlight of Debrecen’s cultural calendar. Each year, local musicians of all genres—from folk to rock and jazz to metal—perform 20‑minute sets at different downtown locations, turning the city center into a vibrant stage. The festival emphasizes community spirit and local identity, giving both well‑known and emerging artists the chance to present their work.

Debrecen bands and performers are invited to apply, without any genre restrictions (except for catering and ballroom bands, as well as playback and semi-playback productions), who have a minimum 20-minute performance.

Before registration, the following points should be noted:

  • Bands should register if all members are available on the festival date.
  • A rider is not the same as a band photo. If no professional, edited, official rider is available, a short Word document describing the band lineup and instruments played should be uploaded instead.
  • Bands are asked to avoid changing the band lineup after submitting the rider.
  • Acts with partial ties to Debrecen should kindly explain in the “Short introduction” section what their Debrecen link is, since the festival aims to feature performers with genuine ties to the city.

As the organizers indicated, the application is considered successful only if a confirmation is received at the provided email address.
