The municipality manages the removal of green waste from October until the end of the year

A question was raised in the comments to Mayor László Papp regarding leaf collection in the city. In a separate post, the mayor confirmed that the municipality is taking care of it.

“In Debrecen, autumn leaf collection and year‑round green area maintenance in public spaces are carried out as planned from October through December,” the mayor stated.

He added that the municipality distributed 525,000 leaf collection bags to residents in October, along with 8,000 composting containers in recent years to encourage environmentally conscious disposal of green waste.

Green waste is collected every odd week until December, on the same day as selective waste collection. Burning garden waste remains prohibited, with fines of up to HUF 100,000 for violations.
