The new wall painting in Debrecen is complete

Debrecen’s newest mural in the Batthyány Street passageway is finished. The city’s fifth public space mural evokes the world of the street in the 1960s.

​​As reported earlier,  the mural is a reproduction of a work by Debrecen graphic artist János Józsa, depicting Batthyány Street in 1968.

The street artwork is intended to connect with the people of Debrecen, as many of the elements on the wall may be familiar to many.

“During the weeks of preparation, many stories about Debrecen in the sixties and seventies have already come to light, and we hope that many memories and histories will become our common treasure, so that this period of the city’s history will not be forgotten either,” Deputy Mayor of Debrecen István Puskás said in his Facebook post.
