Malompark Shopping Centre postpones introducing its paid parking system

The planned introduction of a new parking system at Malompark Shopping Centre has been postponed due to technical reasons, with no new date announced at this time.

Malompark had previously stated that parking would become paid starting August 1. However, in a Facebook post on Saturday, they announced the delay and said that further details would be shared later.

Under the new system, visitors would pay 480 HUF for the first 90 minutes and an additional 480 HUF for each subsequent hour, starting on weekdays. Parking remains free on Saturdays and Sundays.

They also noted that parking will only be available during the shopping centre’s opening hours, and owners of electric vehicles will also be required to pay.

The change is being made in response to increased demand caused by the introduction of paid parking zones nearby, and to discourage non-shoppers from occupying spaces. Malompark says the goal is to ensure parking remains available for actual customers.

More information on the Malompark website.
