The University of Debrecen continues development of Dóczy Street Sports Campus
At the DEAC Sports Campus, the University of Debrecen is constructing a changing room and storage building to serve the tennis courts. An office space would also be built within the building, where any administrative tasks that arise will be performed. The university selected the company for the construction of the building complex through a public procurement procedure.
According to the results announcement published in the Public Procurement Bulletin, out of the six bidders, TEGYE Plusz Kft. from Nagykálló won the contract with a gross bid of HUF 70 million.
The tender documentation reveals that the gross floor area of the building will be nearly one hundred square meters, and it is planned to be located on the northwest side of the grandstand next to the existing water block building. The winner will have six months to complete the work.
The University of Debrecen’s renewed sports campus on Dóczy Street was handed over two and a half years ago. During the works, the existing old grandstand, built in 1928 and a monument, was modernized and integrated with new building wings to the right and left of it, totaling almost a thousand square meters. During the works, the existing historic grandstand built in 1928 was modernized and integrated with two newly constructed wings on its right and left, together covering nearly 1,000 square meters. The three-story facility thus became almost 1,500 square meters in total. At the University of Debrecen’s Dóczy Street Sports Campus, the first floor now houses offices for the Institute of Sport Science Coordination and for DEAC’s departments. The two new wings were connected behind the historic grandstand by a corridor, where a permanent exhibition space was created to showcase DEAC relics. On the second floor, classrooms have been established. In addition, the complex includes a grandstand, changing rooms, offices, storage areas, and workshops. The investment, financed by the University of Debrecen and carried out by Dryvit Profi Ltd. over one and a half years, cost HUF 1.32 billion.
The Debrecen University Athletics Club, DEAC, has 33 departments.
