This year again, Arany Oroszlán Pharmacy is helping those in need
This Christmas—as in previous years—the Arany Oroszlán Pharmacy once again supported the elderly and those needing support in Debrecen with a significant donation. As a member of the Kulcs Quality Pharmacies network, the pharmacy offered products worth HUF 5 million, including a total of 2,000 boxes of immune‑boosting vitamins, dietary supplements, creams, drops, and children’s vitamins, which will be distributed to those facing hardship by the Debrecen Charity Board.
Dr. Dávid Bárd, owner of the Arany Oroszlán Pharmacy, emphasized at the handover that as healthcare professionals they feel a special responsibility to help preserve the health of those in need, especially during the winter season. He noted that the donation provides immediate assistance to the elderly and families and expressed gratitude to the eight manufacturing partners who joined the initiative. He also highlighted the role of the Debrecen Charitable Body, which ensures that the donation reaches the right places.
Lajos Barcsa, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen, highlighted in his speech that the Arany Oroszlán Pharmacy has been a reliable partner of the city in charitable initiatives for many years. As he stated, Debrecen is truly strong when businesses and individuals join forces for the benefit of the community. The donation represents not only material assistance but also genuine care and attention for the needy. The Deputy Mayor also recalled that Dr. Dávid Bárd recently received the “Patron of Debrecen” award.
Edit Bódor, President of the Debrecen Charity Board, highlighted in her thank‑you speech that beyond donations, human connections and attentiveness carry the greatest value. She stressed that these contributions not only serve health preservation but also convey the message to the elderly that the community values them. She explained that the donation will be delivered to residents of care and retirement homes. As a symbolic gesture, Edit Bódor presented an angel to the pharmacy’s staff and partners in appreciation of their commitment and compassion.
Erzsébet Katona, municipal representative, recalled that the Arany Oroszlán Pharmacy had already provided selfless assistance during the COVID pandemic, when the pharmacy delivered medicines free of charge even to residents living more than ten kilometers away in its district. She emphasized the importance of prevention and noted that as part of the current donation campaign, 300 packages of children’s vitamins will be distributed to kindergarteners.
At the handover ceremony, Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa presented Dr. Dávid Bárd, owner of the Arany Oroszlán Pharmacy, with a commemorative gift honoring his dedicated and supportive work over the past years.
