Three capybara cubs were born at the Debrecen Zoo

The capybara is the largest rodent in the world, weighing up to 60 kilos, yet it is extremely friendly and calm. As a result, they are often seen in the company of other animals, as the peaceful presence of capybaras is reassuring to all.

Due to the shrinking of their habitat and human-animal conflicts, the species is on the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, so it is particularly valuable that new arrivals have been born in Debrecen.

Debrecen Zoo has reopened after the storm damage was repaired, and the three cabybara babies can now be seen in their runway.
