New play elements have also been placed in the fenced park. The area will be landscaped so children can play in the shade during the summer heat. The development was implemented with almost HUF 33 million of local government funding.
Safe and modern: these were the most important aspects on which the playground on Tusnád Street in Homokkert was rebuilt, which was already available to families on Monday. The park was last renovated in the early 2010s, so modernisation has become timely again. “We went to the previous playground here too, but there wasn’t much back then. Now that there are so many new games and I have three children, everyone can find a game to have a great time,” Ferenc Dankó said.
The fence on the playground was replaced, and the gate was fitted with a child lock. The former cinder sports field was given an asphalt surface and surrounded by a net. The community space was enriched with several new play elements. “Five new pieces have expanded the number of playground games: there are now a play castle, swings, seesaws, a swing corridor, and a skill-developing spring game, so children can try out many new games,” Municipal Representative Gyöngyi Nagy Dankuné said.
This development also improves the quality of life of families with young children moving to the city district. During the continuous urban development, welfare investments are given great emphasis. “It is a particular pleasure that there is a kindergarten nearby, so the use of the playground is a matter of course, and this is almost every day; if the weather is good, then it will be fine,” Member of Parliament László Pósán highlighted.
The playground area will be landscaped later, and shade trees will be planted. The renovation was funded by approximately HUF 33 million in local government funds.
