Two new production lines commissioned at Schaeffler’s Határ Road plant in Debrecen

The plan on Határ Road is where tapered roller and ball bearings are produced for electric, hybrid and conventional combustion engine cars.

The integration further expanded the Debrecen manufacturing activities, providing an excellent opportunity to leverage the strengths of the two plants.

Péter Szabó, managing director of Schaeffler Debrecen, told the local newspaper that they are trying to use this knowledge to the advantage of both sites. It is also essential that there is a strong emphasis on vocational training at both sites. We have 140 students on the two sites, and we want to continue to strengthen that because they are our future.
Both factories in Debrecen see the merger as an opportunity. The sites will share their expertise in automotive electronics, bearing and component manufacturing, and the experience package with their colleagues, who will be the biggest winners from the integration.

József Nyéki, factory manager of Schaeffler E-mobility Debrecen, said that both sites previously had a package of discounts and rebates from local providers. These were merged, and now the full package is available to all Schaeffler employees in Debrecen.

Following the merger, Schaeffler now employs around 2,600 people in Debrecen, making the mobility technology company the largest industrial player and employer in the city.
