Water Shutoff Expected at Several Debrecen Homes This Friday

Debrecen Waterworks will carry out repairs to a drinking water trunk main between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 4 September. During the works, residents in properties at 67/A–B, 71/A–B and 75/A–B Füredi Road should expect an interruption to the water supply.

It is important to note that fire-fighting water will also be unavailable along the affected section while the works are underway. Fire-fighting water will continue to be available in areas of the city not affected by the works.

Once the repairs have been completed, the drinking water may temporarily become cloudy or discoloured. According to the Waterworks, this does not pose a health risk but residents are advised to allow the water to settle before drinking it. Cloudy water can be flushed from the system by briefly turning on the garden tap.

If any problems with the water supply are noticed following the maintenance work, they can be reported to Debrecen Waterworks staff on +36 (52) 513-536 or +36 (52) 534-510, both of which are available 24 hours a day. Faults can also be reported by email at diszpecser@debreceni-vizmu.hu.
