Wizz Air to Relaunch Another Regular Flight from Debrecen Next Week
Flights from Debrecen International Airport to Eindhoven will resume on 2 May, with services operating twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using Wizz Air aircraft.
The Eindhoven route was one of Wizz Air’s oldest services from our city, with the first flight taking off in December 2012. The route was first suspended during the coronavirus pandemic, and then discontinued in November 2024. Recently, however, a decision was made to restart it, as many people had missed the service.
With a population of 288,000, Eindhoven is the fifth most populous city in the Netherlands. Visitors can truly experience the atmosphere of Dutch cities here, with numerous cyclists, a charming city centre, historic buildings, pedestrian streets, markets and parks. The Van Abbemuseum, the Philips Museum and the Eindhoven Museum all offer attractions, while football fans may even wish to attend a match of PSV Eindhoven, the former club of Balázs Dzsudzsák.
Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht can all be reached from Eindhoven in approximately one hour by train.
Traffic at Debrecen International Airport is steadily increasing, as Wizz Air has recently increased the frequency of its flights between Debrecen and London from three to four per week, now operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
In addition, Lufthansa continues to operate its service between Debrecen and Munich.
As reported recently, Wizz Air has resumed its service from Debrecen to Larnaca in Cyprus, following a winter break. The airline operates two flights per week, with the final flight scheduled to depart on 24 October, after which the route will once again enter its winter break.
Wizz Air’s Debrecen–Istanbul service will restart on 1 July. Flights between Turkey’s most populous city and Debrecen will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
During the summer, passengers will also be able to travel to Varna, Bulgaria’s most popular holiday resort, with Wizz Air flights operating three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from 16 June.
Meanwhile, the first charter flight has also been announced: this summer, it will once again be possible to fly from Debrecen to Sunny Beach in Bulgaria with a Robinson Tours charter service. According to the schedule, one flight per week will operate from Debrecen to Bulgaria, and back, from 15 June until the end of August.
Debrecen International Airport has informed dehir.hu that further announcements regarding summer charter flights are expected in the near future.
