Work has begun on Harro Höfliger’s new production hall in Debrecen
The German-based Debrecen company produces unique machines for the medical technology and pharmaceutical industry, with which the company indirectly contributes to the health of millions of people.
The specialists have already taken possession of the area, and work has begun in the new production hall of Harro Höfliger Hungary Kft. The production of unique, state-of-the-art machines for the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries is set to begin, with employees having acquired the necessary high added-value knowledge at the German parent company.
“We usually say that we do not give customers machines but offer them solutions. And for this, our employees definitely need a degree of creative freedom, as well as expertise and knowledge, so that they can perform individual assembly tasks or even redesign and production support tasks based on their own decision-making,” emphasized HR Manager Péter Kanizsár.
Compared to last year, the number of employees will increase by 50 percent by the end of 2025, thanks to the current investment.
This development opens a new chapter in the life of the Hungarian company, as the company’s activities cover the entire life cycle, from design to implementation to aftercare, and these unique devices will reach many parts of the world. Specialists can work on a single machine for up to a year. Among many other things, a contact lens manufacturing machine, a bandage and medicine packaging machine, and an insulin dispenser assembly machine will also be manufactured in the latest factory of Harro Höfliger in the future.
“This is a significant step for Harro Hungary, and it is really exciting for Debrecen, because what we have been able to deliver in this value chain so far was basically welded frames and some additional assembled units, which are the main components of a machine, and of course very important components, but we are now moving from this level to bringing this machine to life in this hall,” emphasized Csaba Juhász, CEO.
With this investment, the production area at Harro Höfliger will expand from 4,500 to 12,500 square meters—tripling in size. The creative engineering team is still open for new members. They’re currently welcoming applications from both mechanical and electrical assembly technicians.
