50,000th iX3 Rolls Off Production Line at BMW Group Plant Debrecen

BMW Group Plant Debrecen has produced its 50,000th BMW iX3, reflecting significant demand for the first series-produced model of the NEUE KLASSE generation. The model is manufactured in accordance with the principles of BMW iFACTORY, BMW Group’s production strategy based on efficiency, digitalisation, and sustainability.

“The 50,000th BMW iX3 clearly demonstrates the capabilities of our Debrecen plant: never before have we produced so many vehicles in such a short period of time at a new facility. This milestone is the result of outstanding teamwork,” said Raymond Wittmann, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production.

The 50,000th vehicle produced is a Fire Red Metallic BMW iX3 50 xDrive. Its completion illustrates a successful production ramp-up at the BMW plant in Debrecen, as well as exceptional contribution from the plant’s more than 5,000 employees. Since the start of series production, the factory has continuously increased its production volume while preparing for further phases of expansion. “The completion of the 50,000th BMW iX3 reflects the dedication and expertise of our team. As the production site of the first series-produced model of the NEUE KLASSE, the Debrecen plant is playing an active role in shaping the future of BMW Group’s global production network,” highlighted Hans-Peter Kemser, President and Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group Plant Debrecen.

In response to customer demand, a second shift was introduced earlier than planned in February 2026, while preparations are already under way for the introduction of a third shift, which is scheduled to begin this September. Strong demand for the BMW iX3 is also evident in the number of orders. The number of orders for the BMW iX3 is expected to reach 100,000 in the near future, marking another significant milestone. Recruitment continues at the Debrecen plant, with applications currently accepted for 43 positions according to BMW’s careers website.
