Born in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, Karin Sarkisjan is today a respected and influential figure in Slovakia’s musical life. Her artistry is distinguished by the seamless unity of expressive piano playing and singing, as well as by the passion with which she reinterprets folk songs and choral works. Through her own arrangements, traditional melodies are illuminated in a new light—faithful to their roots, yet infused with a fresh, contemporary sound.
The Debrecen Hanukkah concert invites the audience on a musical journey in which the richness of Armenian culture blends with the warm, hopeful, and contemplative atmosphere of Hanukkah. Each piece is presented in Karin Sarkisjan’s own interpretation, creating a deeply personal and memorable experience.
