Sensirion Celebrates 25 Millionth Product at Debrecen Factory

Last year, Sensirion’s Debrecen factory celebrated the fifth anniversary of its establishment. Since its launch, the site has undergone substantial development: production capacities have expanded, the organisation has grown stronger, and staff numbers have increased dynamically. More than 150 employees now work at the Debrecen facility, which contributes to Sensirion’s international operations and customer service through the manufacture of high value-added products.

According to Viktor Mátó, Managing Director of Sensirion Hungary, the production of the 25 millionth product is both a symbolic and a highly tangible achievement. “This milestone clearly demonstrates the development of the Debrecen site. The company is just over five years old, and of the 25 million products manufactured so far, nearly nine million were produced in 2025 alone. This shows that we have expanded our capacities gradually and through deliberate steps, and we intend to continue building on this growth trajectory in the years ahead,” he said.

The growing importance of the Debrecen factory is also reflected in the fact that independently operating and accountable sites are playing an increasingly significant role within Sensirion’s global operations. The group’s objective is to organise expertise related to different product groups and customer requirements within efficient, multidisciplinary teams. Within this operating model, the Debrecen site is gaining ever greater importance not merely as a manufacturing facility, but as an independently developing organisational unit that creates value in its own right.

“The parent company no longer views Debrecen as a start-up facility, but as an independently operating organisational unit. One of our key tasks in the coming period is to demonstrate that we can consistently and reliably deliver the performance for which this site was established,” emphasised Viktor Mátó.

The Managing Director highlighted that the company’s growth is driven not only by technological investments and capacity expansion, but also by the expertise, adaptability and teamwork of its employees. Over recent months, several new colleagues have joined the production team as well as the engineering, quality assurance, software engineering and support functions, demonstrating both the organisation’s expansion and its preparation for future challenges.

“I have encountered an extraordinary amount of expertise, a strong team spirit and the energy of youth in Debrecen. Our colleagues always strive to find the best possible solution in every situation, and this attitude is one of the site’s greatest strengths,” Viktor Mátó pointed out.

The company celebrated the production of the 25 millionth product on 16 June at an event organised for employees. To mark the occasion, Franziska Brem, Chief Operating Officer of Sensirion AG, also visited the Debrecen facility. During discussions with employees, it was emphasised that this important milestone represents a shared success – the result of the dedicated work contributed every day by the Debrecen team through the cooperation of production, logistics, procurement, engineering, maintenance, quality assurance, human resources and other support functions. The Swiss company’s objective is for the Debrecen factory to continue playing a key role within Sensirion’s international manufacturing and technology network in the future.
