One More Reason to Visit University of Debrecen’s Botanical Garden

Located behind the Main Building, the University of Debrecen’s Botanical Garden covers 15.5 hectares and is home to nearly 6,000 recorded plant species. Agora Science Centre is situated within this remarkable setting, and admission to the Botanical Garden is included in the price of an Agora entry ticket. This year, a new interactive activity sheet has been created to help visitors discover part of the protected nature reserve by following a designated walking route. Printed copies are available at the Adventure Centre’s ticket desk, while a digital version can be accessed via Agora’s mobile app under the “Agora Tours” section.

Throughout July and August, visitors can join a guided walk entitled The Secrets of the Botanical Garden every Saturday from 10:30 am. During the woodland walk, participants will, among other things, discover what the breathing roots of the bald cypress look like and why climbing a paper mulberry tree can be dangerous. The guided Botanical Garden tour is available to all visitors with a valid Agora admission ticket.
