Development of Water Supply Network and Modernisation of Road Network Continue in Debrecen–Szepes
In order to develop the water supply network in Debrecen–Szepes and modernise the surrounding road network, Phase II of the construction works affecting the district will continue from Wednesday, 22 July 2026, affecting the built-up area of Debrecen–Szepes.
The contractor will carry out the works in 100-metre sections in order to minimise inconvenience to residents. During the first week, archaeological earthworks will take place, which will not involve breaking up the road surface, followed by the pipeline construction works. According to the contractor, residential properties will remain accessible and through traffic will continue to be permitted, although occasional delays of varying duration may occur.
During the road closures associated with Phase II (23 July – 30 November), Debrecen–Szepes may be accessed via Main Road 481. The contractor will continue to provide the county motorway vignette free of charge to affected residents for the use of the motorway sections. Requests for a vignette may be submitted to municipal councillor Zoltán Piros at the following e-mail address: zoltanpiros@gmail.com.
Utility construction works have been completed on the first section of Sárga dűlő, and road construction works have now commenced, during which the entire width of the carriageway will be renewed. These works are expected to be completed by the end of September 2026.
