Music Support Programme Results Announced at Campus Festival
The Municipality of Debrecen has now launched its Music Support Programme for young amateur popular musicians for the sixth time. The aim of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to talented amateur musicians in Debrecen by complementing existing national funding systems and addressing areas not covered by them. The results of the competition were announced at Campus Festival on 23 July 2026.
Deputy Mayor István Puskás said that it has now become a Campus Festival tradition that, on the former Made in Debrecen Stage featuring Debrecen’s talents, local musicians are celebrated between performances and the awards of the support programme are symbolically presented. The Deputy Mayor dedicated the stage on this occasion to the memory of Gábor Niklai Zech, who passed away two days earlier. He stressed that it is no exaggeration to say that, without the Debrecen musician, the city’s underground music culture would not be what it is today.
This year, applications to the Music Support Programme could be submitted in two categories: support for the production and release of popular music recordings, and support for the production and release of popular music videos. A total of 39 applications were received, of which 14 bands and solo artists will receive financial support, with the total amount awarded being HUF 4,000,000.
