Increased Noise Levels Expected Around EcoPro for Several Days
According to information provided by EcoPro BM Hungary, the commissioning of the AP ASU air separation unit under construction at its Debrecen facility has reached another important stage, with a Blow Out operation to be carried out between 27 and 31 July.
The company stated that the relevant authorities had been informed of the activity in advance in accordance with the applicable legislation. During the Blow Out operation, pipelines and equipment are cleaned using high-pressure compressed air. Due to the nature of the technology, temporarily increased noise levels can be expected while the works are underway.
The company emphasised that the cleaning process is carried out exclusively with compressed air and, consequently, no harmful substances are released into the atmosphere during the operation. No chemical substances are used or emitted; therefore, from this perspective, the procedure does not pose an environmental risk. It was also highlighted that the unit concerned is not yet engaged in production activities. The AP ASU plant remains in the commissioning phase, and the current works form a routine and indispensable part of that process.
According to the company, the noise experienced during these days should not be regarded as representative of the levels expected during normal operations once the facility becomes fully operational. In the future, EcoPro’s AP unit will produce industrial oxygen and nitrogen; however, production can only commence following the completion of the commissioning process.
