Ope Day Coming Up at Békessy Béla Fencing Centre This Saturday

On Saturday, 5 September, Debrecen’s largest fencing hall, at 65 Faraktár utca, will host an open day to mark the start of the new season. From 10am to 1pm, visitors can discover the worlds of sabre, foil and épée, while from 1pm to 2pm there will also be an opportunity to try lightsaber fencing.

Everyone is welcome, including children, adults and older people. The organisers have also made arrangements for visitors with reduced mobility, who will be able to take part in fencing sessions too. Participants can try their hand at hitting a target, or even step onto the piste and take on their friends or other participants. Coaches will be on hand to provide expert guidance on how to use the weapons safely and correctly.

The youngest visitors are welcome too: children can start getting acquainted with fencing from the age of four, with special equipment provided for pre-school and young school-age children.
