Drone photos of the almost finished BMW Group Plant Debrecen

The BMW model destined for the Debrecen factory is still undergoing fine-tuning, with series production scheduled to start next year.

BMW Group PlantDebrecen has published new aerial photos on its Facebook page.  The finishing touches are being put on the BMW plant in Debrecen, where production will start for the first time in the painting plant. The plant will be capable of painting 30 bodies per hour, but this can be increased in the future. As we recently reported, special technologies are being used to help protect the environment. The 71 football field-sized solar farm, which broke ground in early September, will serve the same purpose.

In Debrecen, the BMW Group has built a full-fledged car factory with a press shop, body shop, paint shop and assembly hall, as well as a unique battery assembly plant for the in-house assembly of battery cells for electric drive. The plant, which covers an area of more than 400 hectares in the North-West Economic Zone in Debrecen, is the first of the group’s units to be developed entirely along the iFACTORY concept from the very first planning phase, with the aim of efficient, environmentally friendly and digitalised production.

Handelsblatt recently wrote that the model destined for the Debrecen plant  is still being fine-tuned, and that large numbers of Neue Klass cars are expected to roll off the production lines in Debrecen from the end of 2025.

A constantly updated list of current vacancies and an application form are available at the following link: https://www.bmwgroup.jobs/hu/hu.html

Currently, applicants are welcome for more than seventy positions.

This year, the second class of 100 BMW students start their dual training in four professions at the Debrecen plant, and the “big ones”, the 12 grader students, will be able to work close to the production line.

The industrial park is also set to include a 258-seat truck terminal with its own customs yard, which is already being planned and will serve all the city’s industrial parks. The visual plans were recently published on Dehir.hu.

The aim of the project is to ensure that truck traffic does not burden the city’s road network.

The new Hungarian Transport Museum will be built next to the factory, and the competition for ideas has just closed.

The first prize was won by the Archiko Ltd. architectural office from Debrecen.
