The new crèche in the Huszti-kert residential park has been completed

The 28-seat, two-room crèche, built by the Baptist Charity Centre for Child and Youth Education and Development in Debrecen, has been completed, according to the crèche’s Facebook page, which also reveals that the institution has been named “Tücsökvár” (Cricket Castle Crèche.

The nursery was built by KV-ÉP Construction and Services Ltd., the winner of the public procurement, in the Huszti-kert residential park for a gross price of HUF 327.5 million.

The latest issue of the Public Procurement Bulletin also announces that the Baptist Baptist Education and Development Centre for Children and Youth was also successful in its procurement for the purchase of equipment and toys for the crèche. More than 2,000 pieces of furniture, indoor and outdoor toys and other equipment will be delivered to the nursery, which has already started the process of obtaining the authorisation to use the equipment.

Applications for the nursery are now open, the application form is available here.

The Baptists have won HUF 330 million of EU funding for the development through the so-called Recovery and Resilience Plan, and the rest of the HUF 415.5 million investment is expected to be financed by public funds, including the purchase of equipment.

The nursery, which will cover almost 300 square metres, is located in the Huszti-kert housing estate, where many families and young couples have recently moved.

The gated neighbourhood near the Acsadi road is already home to nearly a hundred families, so there is a great need for a crèche, which would also create six new jobs. The nursery is planned for the plot of land next to the hospital, on Tűztövis Street.

Debrecen is currently building more crèches than perhaps ever before. The second nursery in Józsa, which is being built by the municipality, is already structurally complete. The Reformed Church has recently handed over the Tégláskerti nursery, and there will also be a 56-place nursery on Nádsíp Street. The Greek Catholics have won funding for the construction of a 96-seat crèche, which will soon welcome children. The municipality has also built a crèche in the Postakert. The 28-place nursery with two classrooms of the United Hungarian Israelite Community will be built in the immediate vicinity of the Jewish House by the end of 2024.
