The University of Debrecen launches new degree programmes

Vice-Rector for Education Elek Bartha said that in addition to the new bachelor’s degree, seven new master’s degrees would also be announced, meaning that applicants will be offered seventy-three bachelor’s degrees, almost a hundred master’s degrees and six undivided degrees in thirteen training areas.

He explained that the University of Debrecen (UD) provides more than 250 specialisations, including further vocational training, dual training and higher education vocational training, highlighting that the University of Debrecen offers the broadest range of courses in the country, where students can study almost anything outside military science.

“More than 7,500 of UD’s 32,000 students are foreigners, making it the university with the highest number of foreign students not only in Hungary but also in the Carpathian Basin,” he added, noting that last year it admitted more than 11,000 students, making it the second most popular higher education institution in the country.

According to Elek Bartha, the latter is also because UD is an innovative institution, continuously developing its courses, providing students with constantly renewed, state-of-the-art knowledge, and tailoring its professional training to the market’s needs.

He also said that they are in contact with more than a hundred universities abroad, so they can offer all their students who need the opportunity to study abroad for several months.

Director of Enrolment and Further Education, Beáta Ölvetiné Szabó, pointed out that students can apply via e-gate, Client Gateway+ or the Digital Citizenship Programme until the 15th of  February. She indicated that applicants can also learn directly about the training opportunities offered by UD at various faculty events.
