Two more streets get solid paving in Lenctelep

As part of the D2030 programme, road construction in Debrecen, initiated by residents, will continue in 2025. The complex development of Dézsa and Hordó Streets in Lencztelep is already well underway.

As part of the investment, Hordó Street will receive a 184-meter-long and Dézsa Street 151-meter-long solid pavement, in both cases 5.5 meters wide. The contractor will also create a mud-sweeping pavement at the connection points to Kádár Street.

The investment is not only about road construction; asphalt pavement sidewalks will also be built alongside the operating public lighting. Additionally, the gas distribution and communication network will be replaced, the electrical connections will be protected, and a closed rainwater drainage system will be installed.

The works began on 23 April 2025 with geodetic and utility surveying tasks, and construction has been ongoing since then. Currently, the construction of sidewalks, replacement of the gas pipeline, construction of the rainwater drainage network, and design of the road surface are in progress. The protection of the electrical and communication lines has already been completed.

Municipal representative of the area, Szabolcs Komolay, stated that Lencztelep is one of the most dynamically developing parts of Debrecen. Six new Streets have been built in recent years. After the utility network was constructed and the properties were built, the most important request of the residents was the construction of a paved road, which is now being fulfilled in Hordó and Dézsa Streets, he stressed.

Depending on the weather conditions, the investment is expected to be completed by the end of August 2025; however, the contractor aims to hand over the project earlier than this. The net cost of the development is HUF 230 million.
